Moving To Florence for a Semester

It has been a long time update coming, but here it is! I am currently living in Florence, Italy, for five months! I have been here for over a week, and I am in love! At the end of my trip, I am creating a list of places I have visited as well as recommendations.

Florence is a magnificent city. The Duomo is one of the most incredible sights I am in awe of every single time I pass it. It is my view every single day. I have spent years studying it. The Medici family is one I have spent a long time researching, including how Cosimo funded the finishing of the dome. I have no actual words to describe what seeing a structure I have read in great detail about, and seen in documentaries up close - it doesn't feel real.

The initial jet lag was horrible, but I experienced no culture shock. My apartment is on the third floor, so lugging all my stuff up three flights of slopped stairs was awful, but I got through it. My first meal was pizza with wine made in Florence (the wine was not good). I have a single bedroom sharing an apartment with three other women. The apartment is so cute but freezing all the time because the heat is only on twelve hours a day. I am freezing all the time, but it is still not as bad as the weather in the midwest. I have only been here for a short time, but I am in completely in love.

This semester I am taking:

Italian Pop Culture

Branding and Social Media Strategies for the Italian Lifestyle

Italian Cinema

Florence: The Myth of a City

Multimedia Experience

I am so excited to dive into my classes and continuing to explore this incredible city. I finally found a grocery store and a place to buy body wash, so I am already doing all right! I can't wait to keep you updated!

XoXo,

FeFe
